Wire EDM machining has the following advantages:

1.   Wide adaptability: especially suitable for processing difficult-to-cut materials, such as various conductive metals, cemented carbides and so on.

2.    High processing accuracy: it can process special or complex shapes of surfaces and parts, suitable for high-precision, high hardness, high toughness of conductive metal molds, templates and complex shapes of parts.

3.    No contact between the tool and the workpiece: minimal force, reducing the possibility of tool wear and workpiece deformation.

4.    Short pulse discharge time: the cooling effect is good, the thermal effect of the processed surface is small, which helps to maintain the physical and chemical characteristics of the materials.



5.    Save materials: use tiny wires as tool electrodes. After processing, the knife edge is small. It improves the material utilization rate and reduce the material cost.

6.    High production efficiency: it does not need to process special electrodes. And it saves electrode processing time and improves production efficiency.

7.    High safety: the working fluid is non-flammable liquid, which can realize unattended operation and reduce the operation risk.

It should be noted that Wire EDM machining is mainly used for processing conductive materials such as metals. And its processing speed is relatively slow. It requires pre-processing to remove most of the margin, and there is a certain electrode loss.
