How do Zinc Alloy Die Casting Manufacturers Choose the Mold Materials?

The technicists of zinc alloy die casting factories know how much the quality of the mold affects the entire die casting factory, in addition to the technical aspects, mold manufacturing in the materials selection also needs a great deal of attention. As the saying goes: make bricks without straw, the same reason, in order to make a good mold, mold materials must not be used poor.

First of all, we should aim at the structural part of its die casting mold, and the mold materials should meet its corresponding conditions. The materials for forming parts need to meet the following conditions:

1. In high temperature and high hardness parts, sufficient strength and appropriate hardness.

2. Good thermal conductivity, good thermal fatigue.

3. Small coefficient of thermal expansion, heat treatment deformation and good hardenability.

4. It is not easy to oxidize at high temperature, adhesion and corrosion resistance to molten metal, with high wear resistance and corrosion resistance.

5. Good mechanical properties.


The conditions which the unformed parts should meet, that is, the conditions which the mold frames should meet:

1. Good wear resistance and suitable strength.

2. Proper hardenability and small probability of deformation heat treatment.
