Sheet Metal Stamping Processing and Hardware Processing

2024-04-28

Sheet metal stamping is a comprehensive cold working process for sheet metal, including cutting, punching, bending, welding, riveting, mold forming and surface treatment, etc., the most significant feature of the base is the same part thickness. It is the use of plates to make common items in our daily life, such as chimneys, iron barrels, oil tanks, ventilation pipes, elbow sizes, round places, funnel shapes and so on.

It is divided into two cases, non-mold processing: through several punching, laser cutting, shearing machine, folding machine, riveting machine and other equipment for sheet metal processing process, generally used for sample product production or small batch production, the cost is high.

Mold processing: Through a fixed mold, sheet metal processing, generally have blanking die, forming die, mainly used for mass production, low cost.

Hardware processing refers to the external force applied to plates, strips and other materials by punching presses and stamping dies to produce plastic deformation or separation, and obtain the required shape and size of the workpiece. According to the process classification, it can be divided into two categories: separation process and forming process. The separation process is also called blanking, which aims to separate the metal stamping parts from the sheet material along a certain contour line and ensure the quality requirements of the separation section. The purpose of the forming process is to make the sheet plastic deformation under the condition of not breaking the blank, to make the required shape and size of the workpiece. Punching, bending, shearing, drawing, expansion, spinning, correction are several main metal stamping processes. In actual production, a variety of processes are often integrated into a workpiece.

Sheet metal stamping processing and hardware processing have a lot in common, what process to choose is based on the specific product style and needs of customers, not generalized.
